Our story

Built for the Open Web.
By people who Live on it.

This did not start as a company. It started as frustration. Years of daily curation on Flipboard made one thing clear: the platform is exceptional at what it does, but its webapp leaves curators working against their own tools. No magazine organisation. No way to run a flip campaign without losing your mind. No analytics worth the name. Little connection to the open social web.

So FediBoard was built to fix exactly that. Not to compete with Flipboard, but to complete it. Every feature exists because a real curator needed it and Flipboard was not providing it.

"Flipboard Is Great... FediBoard Makes It Complete."

The Open Social Web is not a trend. It is a correction.
For too long, the internet has been carved up into walled gardens controlled by a handful of companies (no need to name them!) whose business model depends on keeping people locked in, monitored and monetised. Algorithms decide what you see. Platforms decide who you reach. And when the rules change, and they always change, your audience disappears overnight.

That is not a social web. That is a toll road with a smiling face on the billboard.

FediBoard embraces ActivityPub and the AT Protocol because they represent something different: a web where people own their presence, choose their communities, and cannot be held hostage by any single platform's decision. When you boost an article to Flipboard.Social or Bluesky through FediBoard, you are not feeding an algorithm. You are reaching real people who chose to be there, on their own terms.

Flipboard's own vision, as articulated by its founder Mike McCue, points in exactly this direction. The federation of Flipboard.Social into the Fediverse, the embrace of ActivityPub, the belief that quality curation matters, the new Surf App, FediBoard aligns with that vision completely. This is not a tool built to work around Flipboard. It is a tool built to amplify what Flipboard stands for, in the hands of the curators who make it worth reading.

Curators are the backbone of Flipboard. They find the articles, they build the magazines, they create the context that turns a feed into something worth following. They deserve tools that match their effort. That is why FediBoard exists.

What we've built

One mission.
Four tools.

What started as a single browser extension has grown into an ecosystem. Each tool exists because a real problem needed solving — and because the open social web deserves better infrastructure than it currently has.

FediBoard
The Flipboard productivity toolkit and Fediverse bridge. For curators who take their craft seriously.
FediFind
The search engine the Fediverse was missing. Find content across Mastodon, Bluesky and Flipboard in one place.
FediStation
The WordPress plugin that turns every blog post into a node of the open social web. Free, privacy-first.
FediBoard Channels
Seven human-curated topic feeds — Culture, Food, Lifestyle, Science, Travel, Wellness, Mix — live on the Fediverse.

All of it is independent, self-funded and built without a growth-hacking agenda. There is no venture capital behind it, no data harvesting, little to no advertising. The business model is simple: people who find value in it pay for it with a lot of free features. That is all.

The road to effective Fediverse adoption is long and the work is honest. That is exactly how it should be.

If you made it this far, you're our kind of people. Welcome!
