Terms & Conditions
1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing the FediBoard browser extension or accessing fediboard.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use FediBoard.
2. What FediBoard Is
FediBoard is a browser extension (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi) that adds a productivity side panel to Flipboard's web application. It assists Flipboard curators with magazine management, campaign workflows, and cross-posting to Flipboard.Social (ActivityPub) and Bluesky (AT Protocol). FediBoard is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Flipboard Inc.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use FediBoard. By using the extension you confirm that you meet this requirement. FediBoard is intended for Flipboard account holders who curate content on the Flipboard platform.
4. Account & Licence Key
FediBoard identifies users by email address. Upon registration, a unique licence key is issued and stored locally in your browser. You are responsible for keeping your email address and licence key secure. FediBoard does not use passwords.
Re-installing the extension or registering again with the same email restores your account and active plan automatically — your tier is never reset by re-registration.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use FediBoard only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with Flipboard's own Terms of Service. You must not:
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, tier enforcement, or licence key validation.
- Use FediBoard to post spam, misleading content, or content that violates Flipboard's community guidelines.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or resell any part of FediBoard.
- Abuse the Fediverse Boost feature to flood Flipboard.Social or Bluesky with unsolicited content.
FediBoard is a semi-automated tool. Every flip and reflip action requires explicit manual confirmation by the user. This design is intentional and must not be circumvented.
6. Plans & Payments
FediBoard offers a permanent Free plan and paid plans (Premium and Pro Curator). Payments are processed exclusively by PayPal. FediBoard does not store payment card information.
The One Month Pass (Premium and Pro Curator) is a one-time payment — no renewal, no subscription. All other paid plans (6-month and 12-month) are recurring subscriptions that renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your PayPal account.
Paid plans activate immediately upon confirmed payment. Upon cancellation or expiry, accounts revert automatically to the Free plan.
7. Service Availability
FediBoard is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the extension, API, or Fediverse Boost services. Scheduled maintenance, third-party outages (PayPal, Flipboard, Bluesky, Flipboard.Social), or force-majeure events may cause temporary unavailability. No compensation is offered for downtime.
8. Changes to the Extension & Pricing
We reserve the right to modify features, tier limits, or pricing at any time. Active paid plans are honoured until their expiry date at the terms in effect at time of purchase. Material changes will be communicated via the FediBoard website.
9. Intellectual Property
All FediBoard code, branding, and content are the property of their respective owner. You are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the extension for its intended purpose. No rights are transferred to you beyond this licence.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
FediBoard is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the extension will meet your requirements, operate error-free, or be compatible with future versions of Flipboard's web application.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FediBoard and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the extension, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or damage to your Flipboard account.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator's jurisdiction. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of the operator's country of residence.

Privacy Policy
FediBoard is built with a minimal-data philosophy. The vast majority of your data never leaves your browser — it is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API.
1. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data is stored exclusively in chrome.storage.local on your own computer and is never transmitted to our servers unless explicitly described below:
- Your magazine lists and their contents
- Copilot campaign history
- Boost history (last 50 entries)
- Extension settings and preferences
- Cached article/story data per magazine
- Your Flipboard username (used for envelope feature ownership checks)
This data is cleared when you use the "Clear All Data" option in the extension settings, or when you uninstall the extension.
2. Data Sent to FediBoard Servers
Our API at api.fediboard.com receives and stores the following minimal data:
- Email address — used as your unique account identifier
- Licence key — a randomly generated 32-character token used to authenticate API calls
- Plan tier & expiry date — to enforce feature limits
- Last seen timestamp — updated on panel open and key events (ping)
- Boost job data — article URL, title, description, image URL, caption, hashtags, and your email — stored when you submit a Fediverse Boost
- Activity event types — anonymised event labels (e.g. "flip_campaign", "export") with timestamps, used for aggregate product analytics. No content is logged.
- Usage counters — monthly boost count and export count for free-tier quota enforcement
3. Data We Do Not Collect
- Passwords (FediBoard has no password system)
- Payment card numbers or banking details (handled entirely by PayPal)
- The content of your flips or magazine articles beyond what you explicitly submit for boosting
- Browsing history outside of Flipboard
- Any data from websites other than flipboard.com
4. Third-Party Services
FediBoard interacts with the following third-party services on your behalf when you use specific features:
- PayPal — processes payments for paid plans. Your email is passed as a reference identifier. PayPal's own privacy policy governs payment data.
- Flipboard.Social (ActivityPub) — receives boost posts when you use the Fediverse Boost feature. Posts are public by design.
- Bluesky (AT Protocol) — receives boost posts when you use the Fediverse Boost feature. Posts are public by design.
FediBoard does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for advertising or marketing purposes.
5. Data Retention
- Account data (email, licence key, tier) is retained for as long as your account is active.
- Boost job records are retained for operational and support purposes.
- Activity logs are retained in aggregate for product analytics.
- You may request deletion of your account data at any time by emailing support@fediboard.com.
6. Security
API communications use HTTPS. Licence keys are randomly generated and not derived from personal data. We do not log raw article content or user-generated text beyond what is submitted for Fediverse Boost jobs.
7. Your Rights
You may at any time:
- Request a copy of the server-side data associated with your email address
- Request deletion of your account and all associated server-side data
- Clear all locally stored data via the extension's "Clear All Data" setting
To exercise these rights, contact support@fediboard.com.
8. Children's Privacy
FediBoard is not directed at users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we become aware that a user is under 16, their account will be deleted.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the extension's features or applicable law. The effective date above will be updated accordingly. Continued use of FediBoard after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Refund Policy
FediBoard operates a strict no-refund policy. Please read this page carefully before purchasing.
Why We Don't Offer Refunds
FediBoard offers a permanent Free plan that gives every user full access to the core workflow — Flipper campaigns, ReFlipper campaigns, Magazine Lists, Fediverse Boost, and all five topic channels — before any purchase is made.
Paid plans (Premium and Pro Curator) extend rate limits and increase Magazine List capacity. Because the Free plan lets you experience the extension's full workflow with no time pressure and no credit card required, you have every opportunity to evaluate FediBoard before spending anything.
There are no trials, no lock-ins, and no hidden fees. What you see on the pricing page is exactly what you get.
Free plan includes: Flipper & ReFlipper campaigns (unlimited), Magazine Lists (3 lists · 5 magazines each), Fediverse Boost (10 boosts/month across all 5 channels), data export (3/month).
All Sales Are Final
All payments made through PayPal for FediBoard Premium or Pro Curator plans are final and non-refundable, regardless of:
- Partial use of the plan period
- Change of mind after purchase
- Failure to use the extension during the plan period
- Incompatibility with a specific browser configuration (check the supported browsers before purchasing)
- Changes to Flipboard's web application that may temporarily affect extension functionality
Exceptions
A refund will be considered only in the following circumstances:
- Duplicate payment — you were charged more than once for the same plan due to a technical error. Provide proof (PayPal transaction IDs) and we will issue a refund for the duplicate charge.
To request a review under these exceptions, email support@fediboard.com within 7 days of the transaction, including your PayPal transaction ID and the email address associated with your FediBoard account.
Chargebacks
Filing a chargeback or payment dispute outside of the above process will result in immediate suspension of your FediBoard account. We encourage you to contact us first — we are a small independent project and disputes are always resolved in good faith.
Plan Expiry
The One Month Pass is a one-time payment with no renewal. All 6-month and 12-month plans are recurring subscriptions that renew automatically until cancelled via your PayPal account. Upon cancellation or expiry, your account reverts to the Free plan automatically.

FediStation — WordPress Plugin
FediStation is provided free of charge under the GPLv2-or-later licence. It is designed to minimise data collection. The vast majority of features are purely client-side — no data is sent to FediBoard unless you explicitly use a connected service.
Terms of Service
By installing the FediStation plugin you agree that:
- You install the plugin on a WordPress site you own or are authorised to administer.
- You will not use the plugin to send unlawful, harmful, or abusive content to third-party services through the share, boost, or submission features.
- The plugin is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. FediBoard is not liable for any data loss, downtime, or damage arising from installation or use of the plugin.
- The Channel Boost feature requires a free or paid FediBoard account. Monthly boost quotas apply per tier (Free: 10, Premium: 300, Pro: 1,000). Quotas reset on the first day of each month. Unused quota does not carry over.
- We may suspend or revoke a FediBoard licence key in case of clear abuse (e.g. automated mass-boosting of spam, deliberate circumvention of quotas).
- We may discontinue or change the FediBoard hosted service with reasonable notice. If the service is discontinued, the plugin's local share buttons will continue to work since they are client-side links.
Privacy Policy
Here is exactly what data is sent and when:
1. On the public frontend (your readers)
No data is sent to FediBoard or any third party. Share buttons open the reader's chosen Fediverse network directly. No tracking pixels, analytics, or third-party scripts are loaded on your visitors' browsers.
2. When a site administrator links a FediBoard account
The email address provided is sent to api.fediboard.com to generate and validate a licence key. We store the email, the licence key, and the chosen tier in order to authenticate subsequent boost requests. The licence key is also stored locally as a WordPress option on your site and removed when the plugin is uninstalled.
3. When an administrator clicks "Boost Now"
The article URL, title, description, featured image URL, optional caption and hashtags, plus the licence key, are sent to api.fediboard.com. We use this data solely to queue and distribute the boost to FediBoard topic channels and connected Fediverse destinations. Boost job records are retained for service operation and may be purged after 12 months.
4. When an administrator checks account status
The licence key is sent to api.fediboard.com to read the current boost quota and account status. No article or visitor data is sent in this call.
5. When the side panel opens
A small JSON configuration file is fetched from fediboard.com to display a rotating notice in the panel header. This is a one-way read; no data and no cookies are sent.
6. Anonymous usage statistics
The plugin sends fire-and-forget pings to api.fediboard.com containing only a randomly generated install UUID, the plugin version, and the event name (for example install, boost_submitted). No PII, no IP address, no domain name, no page URL, no post title, and no visitor data is included. Administrators can disable this entirely by adding add_filter( 'fedistation_stats_enabled', '__return_false' ); to their theme.
7. On plugin uninstall
All FediStation options and post meta are removed from your WordPress database. Account records held on api.fediboard.com (email, licence key, boost history) are not automatically deleted; you can request deletion at support@fediboard.com.
We do not use cookies on api.fediboard.com for plugin requests. We retain server-side logs (IP, timestamp, endpoint) for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention, after which they are deleted.
FediFind — Open-Web Discovery Index
FediFind is an open-web discovery index operated by FediBoard. It is accessible directly at fedifind.com and through integrations such as the FediStation WordPress plugin.
Terms of Service
By using FediFind (directly or via an integration), you agree that:
- Articles you submit to the index must be content you have published or are authorised to submit on behalf of the publisher.
- You will not submit content that is illegal, deceptive, malware-bearing, or designed to manipulate search rankings (spam, doorway pages, content farms).
- We reserve the right to remove submitted articles, reject future submissions, or revoke a FediFind licence key in case of abuse.
- FediFind is provided "as is", without warranty. Inclusion in the index is at our discretion. We may change ranking, indexing, or display rules at any time without prior notice.
- The OG-fetch endpoint may be used by FediBoard products to retrieve publicly available Open Graph metadata from URLs you provide. You must not use it to retrieve content from sites you are not authorised to query.
Privacy Policy
1. When an administrator registers a FediFind account
The email address is sent to fedifind.com and a one-time validation code is returned. After validation, we store the email and a licence key, which is also stored locally as a WordPress option on your site.
2. When an administrator submits an article to FediFind Discoveries
The article URL, title, and hashtags, along with the licence key, are sent to fedifind.com. The submitted metadata is added to the public FediFind index and may be displayed to anyone using fedifind.com or other consumers of the index. Do not submit content you do not want publicly indexed.
3. When the panel preview card or boost form loads
The article URL is sent to fedifind.com's OG-fetch endpoint, which retrieves the article's Open Graph image, title and description so the preview can be displayed consistently. The fetched metadata is cached on FediFind's servers to reduce repeated requests. No reader data is sent.
4. On plugin uninstall
All FediFind-related options and post meta are removed from your WordPress database. Indexed entries previously submitted to FediFind are not automatically removed; you can request removal at support@fediboard.com.
We do not use cookies on fedifind.com for plugin requests. We retain server-side logs (IP, timestamp, endpoint) for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention, after which they are deleted.
